AND SO IT BEGINS.....

We eat seasonally here except for canned and frozen veggies and winter greens from the passive solar greenhouse.  This means LOTS of stored carrots, onions and potatoes which besides getting a little tiresome, are getting wrinkly and sprouty.  SO, that first fresh salad from the garden is a big treat!

  1. Do you mean stuff you have canned and frozen? Pretty sure that's it!

This year, for some reason, I have a TON of bermuda grass growing in my raised beds. GRRRR. I don't know why..but it snuffed out all of my radishes and chard. :(

    1. Yep - homegrown/canned/frozen veggies. Is Bermuda grass like quack grass? I have tried 3 times to get strawberries to grow in a raised bed and the quack grass completely took over. Sorry about your chard and radishes - you had the best looking breakfast radishes last year.

  2. I'm impressed by the radishes. Mine are just gettting going. Sorry to say this, but we need less rain and more heat!

    1. Shell - we could use some heat also - but with a little rain. We apparently had a frost on the 15th...that's JUNE 15....some of the pumpkin leaves got it along with one of the small cherry trees - seemed to be pretty localized as nothing else appeared to be affected.
